Carmody’s Bar Carrigaholt < Back

Irish holiday destination

Carmody’s Bar is a fourth generation family run business in West Street, Carrigaholt.  It is a historically significant drinking establishment serving up friendship and hospitality for over 150 years.  We host regular traditional Irish music sessions, serve great Guinness and provide a venue for Community gatherings.  A sing song is never far away.

It is my belief that my great-grandfather, John Carmody 1828, and my great grand-mother Hannah Collins 1830, both came from Carrigaholt. My grandmother Bridget Donnellan came from Killkey. I would come to Carrigaholt to visit and to see if there are any records to hopefully confirm there births and to meet some of my relatives who still live there.
I hope that this email is appropriate and the someone may be interested in responding to it. I was born in Sandy Hook (Newtown) Connecticut where all of the above ancestors settled and spent their lives.
